Tour Wedge
The Tour wedge features Gorge® grooves, which are precision milled at PING to hold very tight tolerances for ensuring maximum spin. Combined with multiple sole options, Tour wedges optimize control and consistency. Match one of three sole widths to fit your game and playing conditions: Thin Sole (TS), Wide Sole (WS) and Standard Sole (SS).
Gorge Groove Technology starts with arguably the most precise milling process in the industry. We mill the Gorge groove at PING so we can hold very tight tolerances to ensure maximum spin. By managing the process, we can achieve the optimal size and shape of grooves for generating consistent, reliable spin and trajectories for confident shot making. The 17-4 stainless steel head has a traditional shape and features a custom tuning port in the back cavity that expands the perimeter weighting, creating a high MOI and a very solid feel across the face.
The Tour wedge is available in three sole widths: TS (Thin Sole) has the least bounce and is best for shallow swings and firm sand or turf conditions. SS (Standard Sole) offers medium bounce and performs great from most turf conditions and for most swing styles. WS (Wide Sole) has the most bounce and is exceptional in softer sand and turf conditions, or if you have a steep angle of attack. To determine the best wedge for you, consider your divot pattern. If you take deep divots, the WS will prevent excessive digging. If your divots are shallower, the TS will help you get the lead edge under the ball more easily and impart spin.
Features
Gorge Grooves
The groove’s dimensions – width, depth, spacing, radius, and wall angles – are precision milled to maximize spin for control and consistency.
3 Sole Options
Three different sole widths help you fit a wedge to your game and playing conditions. From left to right: The thin sole (TS) for shallower swings; the standard sole (SS) for most swing styles; and the wide sole (WS), if you have a steeper angle of attack.
Thin Sole (TS)
If you play mostly in firm conditions and have a shallow approach angle, the TS will help you get the lead edge under the ball more easily and impart spin. It has the least amount of effective bounce.
Standard Sole (SS)
The versatile SS features moderate effective bounce and performs well in all playing conditions and with shallow or steep attack angles.
Wide Sole (WS)
If you take deep divots, the WS has the most effective bounce of the three Tour wedges to improve your turf interaction and prevent excessive digging.
High MOI
The 17-4 stainless steel head has a traditional shape and features a custom tuning port in the back cavity that expands the perimeter weighting, creating a high MOI and a very solid feel across the face.
